St Johns Parade!

The St Johns parade is this coming Saturday, May 12 and NPLL will be marching amidst the bands, floats, Shriners cars, dance troupes and politicians. For many players -- especially the younger ones -- this is the highlight of their season! It's also an opportunity to show our appreciation to sponsors and the community at large, so we highly encourage participation.

We'll gather on N Calhoun, one block west of Roosevelt HS between Central and Hudson. The parade begins at noon, but the organizers have asked that teams arrive by 10:30. (We've found that 11:00 - 11:15 to work ok if you understand that there will be road closures and lots of congestion.) League representatives will be in staging area to help. (If you intend to drop off your player, the organizers suggest doing it in the vicinity of Polk and Central. The organizers also suggest meeting your players after the parade at the northwest corner of John Park near the Community Center.)

Players should wear uniforms with street shoes (not cleats!!) and carry water, snacks and any additional clothes to accommodate changes in weather.
